Since 1954, Jess Lewis Transmission has been providing top-notch automotive and transmission repair services to the residents of Fort Wayne, Indiana and the surrounding areas. Our business is named after Jess A. Lewis, a well-known and accomplished figure in the automotive community who was active in automotive transmission work as early as 1947. Jess had six automotive transmission patents to his name at a young age, and he held three Class A - Gas Experimental Dragster records. He was so well-known in the automotive community that many had given him the nickname of "Mr. Transmission." In addition to these accomplishments, Jess Lewis authored "400 Turbo Tricks, " a manual containing information regarding the GM 400 Hydra-Matic transmission.

Jess Lewis operated the business for 30 years, and Jess Lewis Transmission has only changed hands twice since Jess himself owned it. The current owner, Danny Mills, purchased the business with his father back in 1995 at only 24 years old. Today, we are still a family-owned and run business, and we are proud to be part of the Fort Wayne Community. We strive to do our part in contributing to our community by growing our business, creating new job opportunities, and striving to always provide excellent service.
