Our Story

My name is Rick Davis, and I am the owner of Davis Automotive. The business was started by my father, M.L. Davis, in September 1961 near 635 and 75 in Richardson, Texas. He moved to a new location at Beltline and Greenville in December 1971 and remained in that location until January 2017. My brother and I grew up working in the family business, doing whatever needed done, including making parts runs on our bicycles. My brother Major bought into the business in 1985, and I bought my father's half in 1993 when he was ready to "retire". My brother and I worked together until January 2017, when he also retired. At the same time, I acquired McCain's AC and Auto Repair and moved into his location. We have successfully integrated the two businesses and are currently doing general repairs on all makes and models with a strong emphasis on electrical/computer diagnosis and repair and AC repair.

Our state-certified emissions repair facility offers digital inspections emailed or texted right to your phone or computer upon customer request. We use the latest computer technology and software to diagnose your vehicle's problems.

Recognized Emissions Facility

As a Recognized Emissions Facility by the State of Texas, we are authorized to perform emissions repairs for vehicles that fail the state inspection. If your vehicle fails the state inspection for emission reasons, we can connect you with our partner and, if you qualify, the State of Texas will pay up to $600.00 of your emission repairs on your vehicle.
