Our story began in 1971 when two brothers, George and Tony Guldalian, started a small tire shop in Glendale, California. Our History
Our journey began in 1971 when Tony Guldalian, just 30 years old at the time, had a vision to start a tire shop. Although he was newly married with a young child, he was determined to make a living installing tires for $2.50 an hour in Manhattan Beach. Tragedy struck when his older brother George was laid off, along with hundreds of others, by defense contractor Lockheed-Martin. The brothers brainstormed and decided to open a tire shop in Glendale, catering to the growing community. They aimed to offer competitive prices and quick service, setting the tone for their business model.
Expansion and Growth
As Grand Prix Tire and Automotive Service grew, so did its reputation. In 1979, we expanded to a larger location in Monterey Park, where we continue to operate today. Over the years, we have expanded our services to include automotive repair and maintenance, specializing in commercial tire road service, lift and leveling kits, and semi-truck alignment.
