Our History

A & H Implement Company has been a cornerstone of the Altamont community for over a century, serving the automotive needs of generations of families. Our story began at the turn of the 20th century with Mrs. Louis Hoffmeister, who, alongside her son Ronald, established the company. Mrs. Hoffmeister's dedication and entrepreneurial spirit laid the groundwork for what has become a beloved local institution. In 1972, when Ronald's brother Jerry joined the business, the company continued to flourish under their combined leadership. A pivotal moment arrived in 1977 when a brand new body shop was built, marking a significant expansion of the company's services. Ronald's son Michael then joined the family business, bringing a new generation into the fold. The commitment to growth and improvement never wavered. Extensive renovations to the original building in 1994 and the incorporation of the business in 1996 further solidified the company's standing in the community.

In 2003, Ronald retired, passing the torch to Jerry and Michael, who embraced the responsibility of guiding the company into a new era. Recognizing the changing needs of the community, a state-of-the-art paint room was added to their facilities in 2008, showcasing their ongoing dedication to providing the highest quality services. Through the years, A & H Implement Company has proudly served Altamont, building a reputation for offering a carefully curated selection of vehicles and unwavering customer service.
