Our Story

EDS Auto Repair, Inc. has a rich history rooted in the community's trust and Ed Eakins's vision of providing honest and reliable automotive services. Ed started Ed's Auto Repair in 1979, laying the foundation for a business built on quality workmanship and dedication to customer satisfaction. With his wife Liz diligently managing the books, Ed steadily built a reputation as a trusted resource for car repairs in the Fox Valley area. It was in 1994 thatNate Pritt joined the growing team. Nate, boasting a diverse background in the automotive industry, having worked at auto parts stores, warranty companies, dealerships, and service stations, brought invaluable expertise to EDS. He quickly became an integral part of the business, filling a crucial role as it expanded.

When Ed decided to retire in December 2016, he entrusted Nate with the family legacy. Nate, eager to continue the tradition of excellence, made the decision to rebrand the business as Expert Diagnostic Services Auto Repair, Inc., while keeping the familiar and beloved "Eds" moniker close to its heart.

The years following saw a dedicated team of talented mechanics contributing to EDS's legacy. Longtime colleague Keith Rogers brought his tireless work ethic and exceptional skills to the shop, earning the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and customers, before moving on to pursue other opportunities. Jason Kuehl, a former Geneva Mobil Service Manager/Mechanic with decades of experience, joined the team in 2017, bringing even more expertise and reliability to EDS. Adding to the solid foundation was Doug Bisso, bringing his diverse skillset honed through experience at Krage's in Villa Park, Ford dealership service writing, and NAPA, further bolstering the team's abilities.

Rounding out the team is Gloria Novak, our new bookkeeper who proved to be a quick learner in the often-complex world of auto repair record-keeping.
