Founded in 1981 and formerly known as Steve's Mechanic Shop, Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive is one of the Pacific Northwest's go-to auto repair shops for customers ranging from Bellingham to Olympia. With knowledgeable, friendly, and ASE certified technicians, we pride ourselves in the quality of work that we provide to each one of our guests and aren't happy until you're happy with your service. Meet the Owners

Steve Fry and Vince Peterson are the co-owners of Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive. Steve founded the shop in 1981 and initially focused on diesel truck repairs. Over the years, the shop expanded to become a general auto repair facility. In 2000, Vince joined the team and became a partner in 2002, leading to the rebranding as Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive. Both Steve and Vince are dedicated to providing 100% candid and honest services, ensuring that every repair is thoroughly explained and only what is necessary is performed.

At Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive, we offer a wide range of services including complete computer diagnostics, complete safety analysis, engine and transmission replacement, tune-ups, oil changes, tires, brake repair specialist, mufflers and exhaust systems, steering and suspensions, alignments, and more. Our technicians are certified in various areas such as engine repairs, automatic transmissions, manual drivetrains, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical and electronic systems, heating and AC, engine performance, light vehicle diesel engines, exhaust systems, and automobile advanced engine performance. We are also a Certified Repair Center, backing most of our repairs with a 12-month/12,000-mile nationwide warranty.
